The role offers exposure across multiple asset classes and products, including OTC derivatives, Repo, and Securities Borrow Lending, providing you with the chance to expand your knowledge and develop your skills within a supportive network. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring operational excellence and regulatory compliance while working closely with internal and external stakeholders. What you'll do:

  • Process daily margin exposure across all asset classes including OTC non-cleared and cleared products, Repo, and Securities Borrow Lending by calling counterparts where MUFG is exposed and meeting counterpart calls on MUFG in line with valuations.
  • Ensure all margin bookings are accurately reflected in core systems for agreed settlement, approving transfers in a timely manner to maintain operational integrity.
  • Resolve cash and non-cash fails promptly to ensure smooth transaction flows and minimize disruptions within the collateral management process.
  • Utilize Cheapest to Deliver collateral strategies in conjunction with Front Office requirements to optimize collateral usage based on eligibility criteria.
  • Manage collateral disputes and reconciliation for both Variation Margin (VM) and Initial Margin (IM) agreements, maintaining clear communication with senior management and risk teams.
  • Oversee regulatory reporting, controls reporting, and relationship management with internal stakeholders such as Vendors, Front Office, Credit Risk, Product Control, Operations Teams as well as external partners.
  • Support SOX compliance and Key Control Testing activities alongside Internal and External Audits to uphold rigorous standards of operational control.
  • Perform balance substantiation reconciliation using analytical tools to ensure accuracy in financial records and reporting processes.
  • Maintain up-to-date process procedures by identifying improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce manual touch points within the workflow.
  • Promote an inclusive culture by providing guidance to team members, supporting vendor interactions, sharing regular feedback, conducting formal performance reviews, and fostering positive ways of working.

What you bring:

  • A solid understanding of legal documentation including ISDA CSA, GMRA, GMSLA agreements is essential for navigating complex collateral management scenarios.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of trade processing life cycles across derivative swap products including trade capture/allocation, confirmations, exception clearance, and connectivity issue resolution with technology teams.
  • Sound familiarity with current regulatory frameworks such as Uncleared Margin Rules is required for ensuring compliance throughout operations.
  • Working experience with REPO and OTC Derivatives products enables you to unravel intricate trading impacts on margin call processes effectively.
  • Strong grasp of derivative trade level valuations empowers you to confidently compare counterparties’ present values (PVs) and challenge discrepancies when necessary.
  • Previous use of TriResolve reconciliation platform and Acadiasoft enhances your ability to manage disputes efficiently within collateral workflows.
  • Understanding key collateral optimisation initiatives such as Cheapest to Deliver strategies supports cost-effective outflow management based on eligibility criteria.
  • Experience handling large data sets coupled with proficiency in data visualisation tools allows you to analyse trends for improved decision-making.
  • Knowledge of CCPs (Central Counterparties), clearing arrangements, and supporting margin processes for Clearing Houses strengthens your operational capabilities.
  • Solid understanding of Repo/Securities Borrowing & Lending workflows from front-to-back booking ensures comprehensive coverage across product lines.
