Morningstar DBRS' European Structured Finance Team Seeks Assistant Vice President

Morningstar DBRS' European Structured Finance team is seeking an Assistant Vice President to support the rating and surveillance of Nonperforming Loan (NPL) and Reperforming Loan (RPL) securitisations across multiple European jurisdictions.

The Role

The successful candidate will play a key analytical role in assessing credit risk, performing cash flow modelling, preparing rating documentation, and supporting senior colleagues in rating committees and external meetings.

We are looking for an analytical, detail-oriented, and collaborative individual who has deep expertise in pan-European NPL/RPL transactions and is looking to work within a dynamic, team-driven environment.

As an analyst, you will be responsible for supporting the analysis and ongoing monitoring of NPL/RPL transactions, including:

Analytical & Transaction Work

  • Conduct detailed credit and cash flow analysis on European NPL and RPL securitisations using Morningstar DBRS methodologies and internal tools.
  • Lead analysis and rating process for new issue transactions, with defined analytical ownership of assigned workstreams.
  • Review and analyse:
    • Servicer business plans and recovery assumptions
    • Historical collection curves
    • Jurisdictional factors affecting legal timelines and recoveries across different European markets
    • Collateral characteristics (secured/unsecured, borrower types, property valuations)
  • Support quantitative modelling of expected recoveries, stress scenarios, and sensitivity analyses.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
