About the Role

MUFG, a globally respected financial institution, is seeking two Assistant Vice President Crisis and Incident Responder to join their London-based Operational Resilience Team. This pivotal role offers you the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting and enhancing crisis and incident management capabilities across EMEA. You will be at the heart of ensuring MUFG’s operational resilience, working closely with business, technology, operations, and resilience stakeholders to safeguard the organisation against severe disruption scenarios. The position provides exposure to high-level governance forums, regulatory engagements, and cross-functional collaboration, all within a supportive environment that values knowledge sharing, training opportunities, and inclusive practices. What You'll Do

  • Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of EMEA Crisis Management and Incident Management Frameworks by collaborating with key stakeholders across the business.
  • Maintain crisis governance processes, escalation procedures, response playbooks, and supporting documentation to ensure readiness for any disruptive event.
  • Coordinate Bronze Incident Management Teams as well as Silver/Gold Crisis Management Teams during incidents and crises, facilitating effective communication and decision-making.
  • Facilitate incident response activities by recording key decisions, actions, and communications accurately for transparency and accountability.
  • Manage crisis management technologies including critical event management tools and emergency mass notification systems by engaging with vendors to optimise their efficacy.
  • Contribute to the delivery of crisis communications, awareness campaigns, and resilience training programmes throughout EMEA to promote best practices.
  • Design, coordinate, and execute crisis & incident management exercises, simulations, and testing activities that validate people, process, technology, facilities, information, and third-party dependencies.
  • Assist with development of exercise objectives, scenarios, success criteria, post-exercise reporting while facilitating workshops involving operational, technical, and business stakeholders.
  • Support resilience assurance activities such as thematic reviews, maturity assessments, capability evaluations across Crisis Management, Incident Management, Operational Resilience, and Business Continuity capabilities.
  • Conduct post-crisis/incident/exercise reports documenting lessons learned; identify findings, control weaknesses, improvement opportunities; maintain remediation action plans arising from incidents or audits.

What You Bring

  • Comprehensive understanding of ISO 22361:2022 (Security and resilience — Crisis management — Guidelines) enabling you to apply industry standards effectively within operational frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory changes caused by PS26/2 – Operational resilience: Operational incident and third-party reporting so you can ensure compliance across all activities.
  • Experience influencing strategic direction during major incidents or crises by leading teams through complex situations with empathy and clarity.
  • Good understanding of FCA/PRA Operational Resilience requirements as well as DORA regulations relevant to UK/EU financial services environments.
  • Previous experience designing/facilitating crisis management & incident management training/testing programmes that foster collaborative learning among diverse teams.
  • Financial services experience is preferred which allows you to navigate sector-specific challenges with sensitivity towards stakeholder needs.
  • Experience supporting regulatory reviews/remediation programmes demonstrating your commitment to continuous improvement within regulated environments.
  • Strong experience using ServiceNow Platform for incident tracking/reporting which enhances efficiency in managing large workloads under tight deadlines.
  • Certificate of the BCI (CBCI), Project Management qualifications, or Crisis Communication qualifications are desirable but not mandatory; practical experience is highly valued.
  • Excellent communication skills combined with a calm approach under pressure enable you to perform well in challenging situations while maintaining accuracy.
