Role Overview
Department
The Project Promotion team is part of the IT Planning, Reporting and Administration department (IPR).
Role Purpose
The role of the IPR department is to ensure communication and liaison with Head Office (HO) in Tokyo, for both Bank and Securities, as well as accountability for EMEA Technology wide reporting, management of resourcing processes, management of asset processes and administration of wider planning processes including annual budget planning.
The Risk Portfolio is part of the Project Promotion team which handle to deliver Bank EMEA and MUS International projects within the planned schedule and budget.

Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects related to market risk, credit risk, operational risk, and regulatory compliance, working with individual Project delivery resources as appropriate.
- Drive project governance, ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory standards, and best practices.
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks that may impact project success. Escalate to the programme manager / portfolio lead as appropriate.
Financial & Resource Management
- Manage the expense budget for the programme, ensuring cost-effective project execution.
- Optimize resource allocation across the programme, balancing priorities and timelines.
- Work closely with Finance and Procurement teams for budget forecasting, reporting, and approvals.
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead, mentor, and oversee a team of Project resources, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Serve as a point of contact for senior management, risk committees, and other oversight bodies.
- Provide regular status reports and updates to governance committees, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Engage with internal stakeholders across Risk and Technology to align project goals with business needs.
Reporting & Compliance
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting to regulatory and internal oversight bodies.
- Implement risk reporting frameworks, dashboards, and KPIs to monitor project performance.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes impacting market and credit risk management functions.
Qualifications
Work Experience
- Essential:
- 5+ years of experience in project management within the banking or financial services sector.
- Ability to operate within both a business and technology context.
- Proven experience in budget management, stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulatory-driven environment with competing priorities.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred:
- Understanding of risk management functions, including market risk, credit risk, and regulatory compliance.

Skills and Experience
- Functional / Technical Competencies:
- Essential:
- Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
- Experience in working with risk analytics, data governance, risk technology solutions.
- Preferred:
- Use of Project Management Tools (e.g. PlanView)

- Education / Qualifications:
- Preferred:
- Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) is desirable.
- Knowledge of risk regulatory frameworks (e.g. Credit Risk/PFE, Stress Testing, Risk Appetite) is desirable.
