Job Title: Assistant Warehouse Manager
Position Type: Full-Time
Location: Warehouse – Wellesbourne Distribution Park, Warwickshire
Reporting To: Warehouse Manager
Purpose of the Role
To work within the warehouse team to ensure that day-to-day targets are achieved in a timely and efficient manner. Acting as a key support to the management team, this role bridges physical stock logistics with technology asset care. You will oversee the accurate handling of high-volume wet stock (drinks inventory) while also managing event hardware (EPOS, tills, and data systems), ensuring everything is prepared, tracked, and deployed flawlessly to support Peppermint’s world-class festival and venue operations.

Core Accountabilities
Wet Stock & Inventory Management
- Oversee the intake, secure storage, and stock rotation (FIFO) of high-volume wet stock (kegs, pallets, cans, and spirits) to prevent wastage.
- Accurately receive, check, and put away all incoming physical and tech deliveries, verifying them against paperwork.
- Inform the Warehouse Manager of any variances, stock shortages, or damages.
- Lead regular physical stock audits, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliations for the Stock Manager.
- Monitor warehouse storage conditions to maintain drink product quality.
- Ensure all picking locations are accurately and safely replenished to satisfy event orders.
- Maintain tight oversight of high-value stock and secure storage areas to prevent loss.
- Operate the WMS to process stock count-outs to events and returns processing and regular audits, capturing accurate data including allergens, Best-Before-Dates, and coding.
- Use WMS reporting to proactively flag wastage and close-to-date stock before it becomes a write-off, and to identify donation opportunities.
- Keep the warehouse logically organised (e.g. by category such as softs, or by brand), with all stock stored appropriately and accurately logged by location, in line with COSHH requirements and alcohol storage regulations (legal and recommended best practice).

Logistics & Dispatch Coordination
- Support the Warehouse Manager in coordinating daily team tasks, picking schedules, and vehicle loading.
- Pack and palletise event orders securely, ensuring heavy wet stock and delicate tech gear are separated safely.
- Supervise and assist in loading vehicles correctly to ensure safe transportation of stock.
- Collaborate with other company departments, supporting the Equals, Tills, and Stock teams.
Technology & Asset Care
- Carry out routine cleaning, software updates, battery charging, and maintenance on all tills, EPOS, and PDQ units.
- Handle basic till programming, layout configurations, and pricing updates ahead of events.
- Manage accurate digital asset tracking, ensuring new hardware is physically onboarded and asset-tagged.
- Log, track, and report hardware damages, attributing repairs to specific event sites where necessary.
Site Maintenance, Safety, & Planning
- Conduct winter equipment servicing, preventative bar infrastructure maintenance, and basic DIY repairs.
- Enforce a strict "clean as you go" standard across the warehouse floor, yard, bar trailers, and storage containers.
- Follow all company health & safety policies, including the mandatory use of PPE at all times.
- Act as a shift lead to support the management team with ad-hoc operational tasks as required.
Knowledge, Experience, and Skills
Essential
General
- Proven experience working in live event, festival, or venue operations.
- Physical capability to lift, move, and stack warehouse equipment and heavy items up to 25kg (such as kegs and crates).
- Strong proficiency in Office 365.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and clear communication skills.
- Basic DIY skills for winter maintenance and equipment repairs.
Stock
- Understanding of stock rotation (FIFO), wastage control, and PAR-level replenishment.
- Proven stock/inventory control experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Confident with Excel and operating a WMS for stock count-outs to events and returns processing and regular audits, with accurate data capture to include allergens, Best-Before-Dates, and coding.
- Accurate receiving, counting, and reconciling of deliveries/returns against paperwork, with clear, fast discrepancy reporting.
- Proactive use of WMS reporting to flag wastage and close-to-date stock before it's a write-off, and to identify donation opportunities.
- Logical, disciplined warehouse organisation — stock grouped appropriately (e.g. by category such as softs, or by brand), correctly stored, and accurately logged by location, in line with COSHH requirements and alcohol storage regulations (both legal and recommended best practice).

Tech
- Proven experience maintaining or supporting event technology/hardware (tills, EPOS, PDQ) in a fast-paced environment.
- Confident operating a WMS/asset-management system for hardware onboarding, asset-tagging, and tracking deployment to and return from events.
- Basic till/EPOS programming — layout configuration and pricing updates ahead of events.
- Comfortable with routine hardware maintenance: cleaning, software updates, battery charging, and fault diagnosis.
- Accurate logging and reporting of hardware damage, attributed to the correct event/site.
Preferred
General
- Valid UK Driving License.
- Counterbalance forklift and Flexi forklift licenses.
Personal Qualifications and Education
- GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above in English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications).
- Strong basic IT literacy matched with relevant industry work experience.

Operating Environment & Travel Requirements
- Seasonal Demand: Our summer months are the busiest periods (between April and October) when the venues operate with the most programming.
- Environment: The warehouse can be cold in winter and hot in summer along with outdoor yard work.
- Flexibility: Evening and weekend availability is expected during the peak summer months.
- Compensation: Overtime is paid during the busy summer months.
