The Client

A highly regarded Wealth Management firm servicing Financial Planning needs of HNW & UHNW clients, the main office is based in Blackpool.


The Role

The Assistant Wealth Planner will play an integral role within the Wealth planning team, taking responsibility for confidently supporting the Wealth Planners in both delivering and executing the financial advice to HNW clients. The successful candidate will provide full professional and technical paraplanning support to the Wealth Planners and will carry out quality research on a full range of financial planning product services.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Undertake accurate calculations and cashflow modelling when needed.
    • Prepare suitability reports and letters for the Wealth Planners to provide their recommendation based on knowledge of the client.
    • Assign and manage external paraplanning resource where needed.
    • Take ownership of provider research panels, across several areas, including, DFMs, SIPPs, offshore bonds, platforms and insurance companies.
    • Confidently draft and co-ordinate technical documents and research for client presentations.
    • Maintain accurate records, prepare review packs and pre-meeting materials and continuously look for ways to improve the suitability report template.
    • Attend client meetings with the Wealth Planners (as required).
    • Provide support with various ad-hoc business projects.

The Candidate

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Paraplanner or Assistant Wealth Planner
  • Academic achiever – keen to develop longer term and keen to build upon client relationships.
  • Keen to work towards CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (Level 4) - if already achieved this would be a bonus, but working towards this is fine.
  • Product knowledge with the ability to work in a small team
  • Experience using cashflow planning software (Voyant) desirable
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication
  • Organised and methodical
  • Advanced MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) desirable
  • Experience using IO and IRESS (exchange) desirable
