Galpin Landscape Architecture delivers a full range of professional landscape architectural services, including landscape/townscape and visual assessments and landscape design. Galpin Landscape Architecture collaborates closely with planning consultants, developers, architects, engineers, and other specialists to provide integrated design solutions. We have a wide portfolio of work including small to large renewable schemes, housing, business parks, and leisure parks.
Role Description
The Assistant/Graduate Landscape Architect role includes delivery of landscape and visual assessments - research, writing of reports, preparing drawings and visualisations. As well as assistance on landscape design schemes - preparing CAD models and assisting with planting plans. This is a remote freelance post, however, working closely with senior team members on landscape and visual assessments and designs. The nature of the work includes participating in site visits, meeting clients, and other professionals as well as remote working.

- Strong foundation in Landscape Architecture, with the ability to support projects.
- Skills in Landscape and Visual Assessment is essential, including understanding of site analysis, land use, landscape character, townscape character, and relevant policies.
- Ability to develop clear and accurate Planting Plans, with knowledge of plant selection, horticulture, and seasonal interest.
- Proficiency in design and presentation tools (e.g., CAD, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar) and confidence in producing drawings, diagrams, and visualisations.
- Degree or postgraduate qualification in Landscape Architecture or working towards professional accreditation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to contribute to reports, planning documents, and design narratives.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a collaborative studio environment.
- Interest in landscape character and visual assessment and important to have self-motivation.
