We’re looking for an innovative and enthusiastic Assistive Technology Officer to join our specialist Therapy Team at Hollybank Trust. You’ll work with children and adults with complex disabilities, helping to deliver technology solutions that enhance communication, independence and quality of life. What You’ll Be Doing
As an Assistive Technology Officer, you will:
- Deliver assistive technology interventions, assessments and support sessions as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Assess and trial a range of assistive technology, environmental control and communication equipment.
- Adapt, personalise and configure technology solutions to meet individual needs.
- Carry out access device assessments and contribute to technology recommendations.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting and maintenance for specialist equipment.
- Create bespoke solutions, including adapting equipment and building mounting systems where required.
- Support colleagues across care, education and therapy services to maximise the use of assistive technology.
- Deliver training and guidance to staff teams on equipment, systems and best practice.
- Maintain accurate records, equipment databases and audit information.
- Ensure equipment is safe, appropriately maintained and compliant with relevant risk assessments.
- Keep up to date with emerging technologies, innovations and evidence-based practice.

Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 3 A-Level passes or equivalent.
- Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
- At least 2 years’ experience working within health, social care or education settings.
- Experience supporting children or adults with complex disabilities and learning difficulties.
- Experience supporting individuals with communication and movement difficulties.
- Experience of assistive technology and environmental control equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive and creative approach to finding solutions.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer sponsorship to work in the UK, and we ask that you have at least 6 months of UK based work experience in any sector.
Hollybank Trust is committed to Safeguarding vulnerable people, and our Safer Recruitment process requires all employees to have an Enhanced DBS check and reference checks in line with our Recruitment & Selection policy.
We will pay for your initial DBS check, unless you have a portable DBS, however, if the candidate leaves voluntarily within the first 12 months, £58.90 will be deducted from your final salary payment.
