Associate – Healthcare Strategy & Commercial Due Diligence

London | Hybrid | Full-time

Who we are

Mansfield Advisors is an award-winning specialist strategy consultancy focused on healthcare. We advise private equity investors and corporate clients across healthcare services, pharma and life sciences, and veterinary markets. Our work spans commercial due diligence, growth strategy, market entry, go-to-market strategy, value creation and digital transformation.

We work in small, senior teams and aim to give our consultants early responsibility, direct exposure to clients and Partners, and the opportunity to build deep healthcare expertise while working across a broad range of subsectors and transaction sizes.

The role

As an Associate, you will take responsibility for substantial workstreams within commercial due diligence and strategy engagements. You will help structure the problem, define the analysis required, manage more junior team members, and translate evidence into a clear commercial view for clients. You will work closely with Engagement Managers and Partners and will have meaningful exposure to investors, management teams and other senior stakeholders.

What you'll do

  • Lead defined workstreams within commercial due diligence and strategy projects, from initial hypothesis through analysis to final recommendation.
  • Structure market, customer, competitor and company analyses; determine the most relevant sources and ensure the team focuses on the questions that drive the investment or strategic decision.
  • Own or oversee market models, forecasts, scenario analyses and business-plan assessments, challenging assumptions and triangulating evidence.
  • Lead expert and selected client interviews, synthesize findings and identify the implications for the investment thesis or client strategy.
  • Develop strong storylines and executive-ready materials, ensuring that conclusions are clear, evidence-based and commercially useful.
  • Coach and manage Analysts and Senior Analysts on day-to-day tasks, providing clear direction, quality control and feedback.
  • Present findings to clients and contribute actively to working sessions with investors, management teams and corporate leaders.
  • Support Partners and Engagement Managers on proposals, pitches, sector development and the creation of reusable Mansfield intellectual property.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Excellent quantitative, problem-solving and financial-analysis skills, with strong Excel and PowerPoint capability.
  • Strong communication and storylining skills, including the ability to turn complex analysis into concise senior-level messages.
  • Experience coaching or informally managing more junior colleagues and taking responsibility for the quality of a workstream.
