As part of the public sector team, you will be involved in providing advice on a wide range of non-contentious matters concerning the application of public sector procurement rules, public sector contracts, grant funding, subsidy control and local authority vires, with the opportunity to work with individuals across the firm on some of the largest public sector projects across the UK. You’ll also support the disputes team with advice on procurement challenges.

Reporting to and working closely with a Partner in the team, you will play an integral part in delivering advice and furthering our public sector offering.

You will be able to communicate clearly with clients both in writing and face-to-face, exercising good commercial judgment in order to find the best possible outcomes for our clients. You will also have excellent awareness and understanding of the legal and political constraints and pressures faced by our public sector clients.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
