I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who are we looking for?
There isn’t one specific background our client is looking for, and we’d actually be really interested in speaking to people who have taken a slightly less conventional route into investing.
You could already be working in VC, but equally you might be a Founder’s Associate, Chief of Staff or early-stage operator who has worked closely with founders and had exposure to strategy, fundraising or new market opportunities.

They’re also very open to entrepreneurial profiles, someone who has built something themselves, launched a new initiative or simply taken a less traditional route into VC.
This opportunity would suit someone who is naturally curious, commercially minded and analytically strong. You’ll enjoy getting into the detail of a business, but also genuinely like the people side of venture, meeting founders, building a network and getting out into the market.
Ultimately, they’re looking for someone bright, proactive and grounded who has the potential to develop into a really strong early-stage investor.
