Role Description
The Associate will work full time in a hybrid capacity, based in the Manchester Area, United Kingdom, with some work from home permitted. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Managing a caseload of asset-based lending/debt recovery matters.
- Drafting legal documents and correspondence.
- Preparing files for negotiation, settlement, or litigation.
- Liaising with clients, external stakeholders, and internal teams to progress cases efficiently and in line with regulatory requirements.
- Reviewing case information, assessing legal options, providing clear advice to clients.
- Helping maintain accurate records and case management system updates.
- Participating in team meetings, contributing to process improvements.
- Supporting colleagues with complex cases.

- Legal knowledge and experience in debt recovery, civil litigation, or consumer law, with the ability to manage a structured caseload.
- Strong drafting skills for legal documents, letters before action, court forms, and client correspondence.
- Effective communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication with clients and colleagues.
- Good organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple matters.
- Proficiency with case management systems and standard office software (e.g., MS Office, email, document management tools).
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
- Relevant legal qualification (such as a law degree, LPC/SQE pathway, or equivalent experience); prior experience in a law firm or in-house legal team is beneficial.
- Awareness of regulatory and compliance standards relevant to debt recovery and consumer protection; commitment to ethical, inclusive, and non-discriminatory practice.
