Position summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented 2-3 PQE Associate to join a market-leading Residential team within the Private Client department. Acting for an impressive portfolio of U.K. and international clients, you will advise on high-value residential property transactions across prime U.K. locations, country houses, and estates.

Working alongside specialists across private client and commercial real estate, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of complex matters, offering exceptional quality work, direct client contact, and excellent opportunities for career development.


Position responsibilities

  • Dealing with clients on a daily basis file.
  • Delivering a high level service to our clients and colleagues and referrers.
  • Dealing with property sales and purchases from beginning to completion and post completion including:
    • Drafting contracts.
    • Considering title documents.
    • Raising searches as appropriate.
    • Reporting to the client.
  • Dealing with post exchange matters including drafting TR1 and RX1 and dealing with mortgagees and arranging Land Registry pre-completion searches and bankruptcy searches, preparing notices of assignment and charge.
  • Assisting on complex property transactions.
  • Landlord and Tenant matters including tenancies.
  • Leasehold enfranchisement and right of first refusal matters.
  • Assisting the private client team with transfers from trust and corporate holding structures.
  • Complex development projects where site acquisition is being led by Commercial real estate.
  • The Associate will also be asked to assist other depending on the requirements of the team.

Experience, skills, and qualifications

Candidates need to be able to coordinate workloads in close liaison with the other fee earners in the team. They must demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, good time management, an energetic and proactive approach, and confidence in their ability to communicate with all levels of staff. They should also have good client handling skills and be able to quickly establish client relationships over the telephone.

Previous residential and or commercial real estate experience would be required preferably in a firm with a similar practice or for the NQ position a seat in real estate.
