Overall Purpose of the Job

We are currently seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Associate Accountant to join our Finance team in Aberdeen.

Working closely with the wider Finance team, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate processing, reporting, and management of financial information while supporting the delivery of efficient financial operations.

As an Associate Accountant you will:

  • Assist with analysing balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
  • Tracking, maintaining and following up on balance sheet control accounts
  • Liaising and providing information to operational departments
  • Processing of UK VAT Return
  • Prepare accurate reports as required (e.g. weekly, monthly etc) in a timely manner
  • Prepare monthly revenue accruals
  • Liaise with team members, internal and external departments as and when required to ensure all questions and queries are resolved in a timely manner. Liaise with manager on any issues or concerns with the documentation to be processed.
  • Provide general administrative support to finance team
  • Actively adhere to the Code of Conduct and Anti-Bribery policies, procedures and processes to ensure the highest ethical standards are maintained and exposure to liability or risk to Expro’s reputation is minimised. If necessary, report possible violations or conflicts of interest.

Job Knowledge And Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous work experience within a finance environment
  • Working knowledge of using SAP or a similar Finance package
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, alongside proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships across the business
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
