Associate Architect

Here at Pick Everard, we are passionate about creating a prosperous and sustainable future, taking a fresh perspective on the built environment. Our core values of professionalism, compassion, drive and positivity are at the heart of everything we do.

We are looking to appoint an Associate Architect to join our growing Architectural team.

Are you an experienced Architect eager to advance your career?

Do you thrive in a collaborative workplace where your ideas and voice are valued?

If you answered yes to the above questions, we want to hear from you!

This is a fantastic and exciting opportunity to help shape the architecture team in London, Nottingham or Bristol. You’ll join a growing and evolving division, leading a range of design and sustainability projects, delivering work for the Ministry of Justice on the Future Prisons Programme, a sole supplier framework expected to continue over several years.

This role offers a significant opportunity for professional development, leadership, and influence within a dynamic, expanding practice that values design quality, team development, and social impact.

Our Architectural team also works across an array of other sectors, including education, blue light, healthcare, industrial, leisure and residential. If you have experience delivering within any of these areas, we encourage you to apply.

We ensure our Architects are involved in all aspects of a project and embedded within a collaborative architectural team. You will work across all RIBA stages on a varied programme of work within the custodial sector, giving you broad exposure and the opportunity to contribute to projects from early design through to delivery. You will be given individual pieces of work to undertake with supervision, work alongside talented mentors, and be encouraged and supported to develop and express your design and technical skills

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Director in managing key client relationships, project performance, and resource planning.
  • Leading the development of design concepts and technical solutions across various project stages.
  • Contributing to project delivery strategies, including programming, fees, and risk management.
  • Taking responsibility for compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Driving coordination across disciplines and ensuring seamless communication within the wider consultant team.
  • Representing the practice in meetings, reviews, and stakeholder engagements with professionalism and insight.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
