Your Contribution
Conduct clinician-led autism assessment work for adults and children within your agreed professional scope.
- Gather developmental, clinical and collateral information from patients, parents, carers and other appropriate informants.
- Conduct ADI-R interviews and administer and score ADOS-2 within your agreed role, training and competence.
- Integrate autism assessment findings with wider clinical information to contribute to diagnostic formulation.
- Participate in diagnostic consensus discussions with relevant multidisciplinary colleagues where required by the pathway.
- Produce detailed, high-quality diagnostic reports to agreed standards and timescales.
- Communicate assessment outcomes sensitively and clearly to adults, children, families and carers within your agreed role.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to quality assurance, peer support and service improvement activity.

What We Are Looking For
- Current professional registration with the HCPC, NMC or GMC, as applicable to your profession and agreed scope of work.
- Demonstrable autism diagnostic assessment experience in a neurodevelopmental setting.
- Essential: formal ADI-R administration and scoring training, with certificate evidence available.
- Essential: formal ADOS-2 administration and scoring training across the relevant modules, with certificate evidence available.
- Strong report-writing skills and a careful approach to clinical documentation.
- Enhanced DBS status or willingness to complete the required DBS process, plus current safeguarding training appropriate to the agreed adult and child role.

Desirable Experience
- Experience of co-occurring presentations such as ADHD, anxiety or learning disability.
- Competence in additional neurodevelopmental assessment tools, such as ABAS, VABS or cognitive assessment methods.
- Experience of assessment feedback meetings, family support or supervision within neurodevelopmental pathways.
