US Casualty

Our US Casualty offering to clients is more than insurance solutions and placement, we embrace our client’s challenges as our own. With over 100 years of specialist US Casualty risk knowledge, we take a fully consultative and holistic approach to the exposures our clients face.

Our Casualty team specialise in a diverse range of industry groups, technical wording specialists and integrated claims support, so we can offer the most compelling casualty insurance solutions, regardless of the industry, product line or territory.

Our Casualty team leverage long-standing insurer relationships and unprecedented market access so we can build the most extraordinary client risk management experience.

About The Role

As an Associate Broker, you will assist with managing the placement and servicing of insurance business, building strong relationships with clients, insurers and global partners to deliver effective insurance solutions. You will support portfolio growth and retention through expert broking, negotiation, client advice and the delivery of high-quality service in line with regulatory and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports placement and servicing activities for straightforward to moderately complex risks under supervision.
  • Develops an understanding of client businesses, risk exposures and insurance requirements.
  • Reviewing client submissions and ability to undertake research to identify any changes in the client’s operations, risk profile including losses, financial position, or recent media and industry developments.
  • Builds relationships with underwriters and supports market negotiations.
  • Assists with placement strategy discussions and market submissions.
  • Assists with client meetings, renewals and servicing activities.
  • Supports documentation and placement administration.
  • Develops knowledge of insurance products, markets and placement processes.
  • Supports placement recommendations through market research and analysis.
  • Supports client planning and strategy discussions, contributing relevant market and placement insights.
  • Maintains effective relationships with clients, insurers and internal stakeholders.
  • Shares knowledge and supports team activities, contributing to positive client and business outcomes.
  • Maintains accurate client, policy and Salesforce records and ensures documentation is completed to required standards.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates an understanding of policy placement and renewal processes through the use of Brokasure/PPL/Artificial
  • Develops an understanding of insurance products, policy structures and placement processes.
  • Progresses professional qualifications and technical learning.
  • Develops knowledge of insurer appetite, market practices and placement methodologies.
  • Develops understanding of client risks, coverage options and insurance solutions.
  • Maintains awareness of regulatory, compliance and governance requirements relevant to broking activities.
  • Competently uses market systems, internal platforms and reporting tools.
  • Builds confidence in discussing technical insurance concepts and market developments.

Ideal Candidate must be able to demonstrate:

  • Relevant Experience: Previous insurance experience with a solid foundation of principles and processes; preferred Casualty background with a focus on US, International or Retail.
  • Excel: Strong capability in analysing complex datasets, identifying trends, and presenting findings through clear summaries, tables, and reports.
  • Research and Analytical Skills: Proficient in conducting in-depth research using a variety of sources to gain insights into client operations, industry trends, and risk exposures.
  • Organisation and Attention to Detail: Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
  • Adaptability: Able to quickly switch between tasks and adjust priorities in a fast-paced environment without compromising quality.
  • Critical Thinking: Skilled at applying logic and judgement to evaluate information, identify discrepancies, and support informed decision-making.
