About the Role
We are partnering with a well-established, forward-thinking property and construction consultancy seeking an ambitious Associate Building Surveyor to join its growing Norwich team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded and technically strong Building Surveyor looking to take on a senior leadership position within a highly respected multidisciplinary consultancy. You'll have the autonomy to lead projects, develop client relationships, mentor junior team members, and play a key role in shaping the future growth of the business. Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, direction, and technical oversight to the Building Surveying team.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, building long-term strategic relationships and identifying opportunities for service expansion.
- Lead the growth and development of the Norwich Building Surveying function, supporting recruitment, team development, and succession planning.
- Mentor, coach, and inspire graduate, apprentice, and junior surveyors, helping them achieve professional qualifications and progress their careers.
- Support business planning activities, helping to shape future service offerings, target sectors, and growth strategies.
- Act as a visible leader both internally and externally, enhancing the company's reputation within the regional property and construction market.
What you'll need to succeed
Essential Requirements:
- Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS).
- Proven post-chartership experience within a consultancy environment.
- Strong project management and contract administration experience.
- Excellent knowledge of JCT contracts and NBS specifications.
- Experience managing client relationships and delivering exceptional service.
- Commercially aware with experience preparing fee proposals and managing project profitability.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Passion for mentoring and developing junior team members.
- Ability to contribute to business development and identify new opportunities.
