We have an exciting opportunity within our Commercial Retail team, specialising in valuing retail properties; particularly outlet malls, trading markets, department stores and supermarkets. The team is the market leading specialists in European outlet malls and there is an opportunity for European wide travel.

You will be working for a wide range of clients including investors, banks, insurance companies, institutional funds, REITS, public and private companies. There is also the opportunity to work closely with our cross-border retail capital markets colleagues in the outlet mall sector.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake existing valuation mandates and start to build contacts to attract new business
  • Work primarily for loan security, accounts and management purposes
  • Work in an efficient and successful manner
  • Be prepared and available for UK and Europe wide travel
  • Prepare valuations and strategic advice to a wide variety of clients
  • Be able to take day to day responsibility for execution of instructions of individual asset valuations and portfolios under minimum supervision
  • Collaborate with larger teams across the valuation department (UK and Europe)
  • Promote the service line to existing and prospective clients
  • Start to develop a profile in the marketplace through building key client relationships
  • Play an active role in the development & line management of more junior team members

Key knowledge and skills

  • Approximately 3-5 years post professional qualification
  • Commercial valuation experience
  • Experience with valuing trading entities preferred
  • Familiar with Argus Valuation software
  • A keen interest in the retail sector
  • MRICS qualified (Or equivalent/transferable)
  • RICS Registered Valuer
  • Good Excel skills. Competent in Word and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with Discounted Cashflows
  • Analytical skills to be able to draw out market trends and information
  • Analysis of P&L data and other operational metrics for trading entities
  • Able to form and justify opinions on property values
  • Confidence in prioritisation and working to deadlines

You will have an eye for detail, be highly numerate and able to work both independently and as part of a team to meet tight deadlines. Ideally you will have experience either in the retail sector or with trading valuations, particularly with building complex discounted cash flows and investment scenarios in Excel.
