We’re looking for an Associate (NQ – 4 PQE) to join our market-leading Clinical Negligence team. This is an outstanding opportunity to build your expertise in complex claimant clinical negligence and personal injury claims while working in a collaborative, highly respected team.
The Role
You'll work on matters for the Architects' Registration Board (ARB) and General Dental Council (GDC), alongside complex education regulation cases involving the Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA) and Education Workforce Council (EWC). You will take ownership of a varied and challenging caseload, advising professional regulators on allegations of misconduct, competence and fitness to practise issues across a range of regulated professions.
Working closely with clients and colleagues, you will:
- Work as part of a team, advising the firm’s clients on complex claimant clinical negligence and personal injury claims
- Undertake case work on liability, causation and quantum issues, adhering to procedural and funding guidelines and limit
- Contributing to the department’s and firm’s marketing efforts identifying and developing new potential sources of referral, maintaining and developing links with existing referrers of work and raising your own, the department’s and the firm’s profile.
- Contribute to training, knowledge sharing and business development initiatives.

About You
We are looking for a lawyer with:
- 0-4 years' PQE (or equivalent experience)
- Experience within Clinical Negligence & some Personal Injury
- Knowledge and understanding of alternative forms of funding, including BTE/ATE, CFA and private retainers
- Good understanding of legal concepts, with excellent drafting skills
- Knowledge of mental capacity issues, post mortems, coroners, inquests and the inquest procedure
- Experience of preparing schedules of loss
- Knowledge of the costs recovery process including the detailed assessment procedure
- Understanding of core liability, causation, consent, quantum and costs issues
