Job Description:
Consumer purchase journeys are becoming increasingly fragmented across retailers, marketplaces, social platforms and owned channels. As brands navigate this evolving commerce landscape, they require integrated strategies that connect media, retail, ecommerce and customer insights to drive growth.
The Commerce Strategy team exists to help clients understand where and how to win in modern commerce. We combine industry expertise, retailer understanding, audience insights, retail media knowledge and strategic thinking to build actionable commerce strategies that unlock measurable business outcomes.
As part of a rapidly growing capability, the team plays a critical role in helping some of the world's leading brands navigate commerce transformation across retail media, ecommerce, omnichannel and digital shelf opportunities.
We are looking for a curious, analytical and commercially minded individual who is passionate about understanding shopper behaviour and translating data into meaningful insights.
Role Purpose
The Commerce Strategy Associate supports the development and delivery of commerce strategy projects by providing high-quality research, analysis and project support. Working closely with Commerce Directors and Managers, the Associate will help transform data, industry trends and market intelligence into actionable insights that inform client recommendations.
Reports To: Commerce Strategy - Senior Manager
Key Objective: Support the delivery of commerce strategy projects through insightful analysis, accurate reporting and strong project coordination, helping identify growth opportunities for clients across retail media, ecommerce and omnichannel commerce.
This Will Be Achieved By
- Developing a strong understanding of the commerce, retail media and ecommerce landscape.
- Conducting research, benchmarking and competitor analysis to support strategic recommendations.
- Producing accurate and high-quality analytical outputs.
- Supporting the development of client presentations and deliverables.
- Maintaining project documentation and ensuring work is completed to a high standard.
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and contributing positively to team culture.
- Continuously developing commerce, category and retailer knowledge.

Client Focus
- Support the development of client deliverables and presentations.
- Assist with market research, retailer analysis and competitor assessments.
- Support ongoing client projects through effective project management and coordination.
Strategy & Planning Focus
- Conduct commerce audits, competitor reviews and market research.
- Gather, organise and analyse retailer, category and consumer data.
- Develop an understanding of commerce strategy methodologies and planning frameworks.
Insight & Data-Led Thinking
- Analyse performance, retailer and market data to identify key findings.
- Support the development of insight-driven presentations and reports.
- Monitor developments across retail media, ecommerce platforms and the wider commerce landscape.
Essential Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.
- Ability to organise and manage multiple tasks.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn.
- Interest in commerce, retail, ecommerce and consumer behaviour.
Desired Experience
- 1-2 years' experience in media, marketing, ecommerce, retail, analytics, or a related field.
- Experience conducting research, analysis and insight generation.
- Familiarity with PowerPoint and Excel.
- Understanding of digital marketing, ecommerce or retail media is advantageous.
- Experience supporting projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in data, strategy and commercial problem solving.
