Responsibilities
You will take ownership of the design, development, and implementation of several Product Governance and Distribution Oversight deliverables, ensuring alignment to:
- FCA Consumer Duty requirements
- Product Oversight & Governance (POG) expectations
- Fair Value Assessment requirements
- Distribution Oversight obligations
- Internal governance and control framework requirements
This is not a BAU governance role.
We’re looking for someone who can work independently, challenge constructively, and rapidly convert requirements into practical and operationally effective governance solutions.

- Customer Outcome Monitoring Framework
- Product Governance
- Fair Value Assessment Framework and Procedure
- Product Change Process, including:
- Change assessment templates
- Governance approval routes
- RACI and decision authorities
- Escalation pathways

Key Responsibilities
- Assess current state product governance and distribution oversight arrangements.
- Design practical governance frameworks, controls, and monitoring processes.
- Develop procedures, templates, guidance documents, and supporting materials.
- Facilitate workshops with business, compliance, risk, and operational stakeholders.
- Translate regulatory requirements into workable business processes.
- Establish customer outcome monitoring approaches and governance reporting.
- Support implementation and embedding of new governance processes.
- Produce clear, audit-ready documentation suitable for regulatory scrutiny.
- Track delivery of actions and support programme governance activities.
Essential Experience
We are particularly interested in candidates who have delivered similar work within:
- Insurance
- Financial Services
- Consumer Duty programmes
- Conduct Risk programmes
- Product Governance transformations
- Distribution Oversight reviews

You should be able to demonstrate experience of:
- FCA Consumer Duty implementation
- Product Governance and Product Oversight & Governance frameworks
- Fair Value Assessments (FVA)
- Customer outcome monitoring
- Distribution and third-party oversight
- Governance framework design
- Process mapping and procedure development
- Workshop facilitation and stakeholder management
Essential Skills
- Strong regulatory knowledge within UK Financial Services.
- Excellent document writing and framework development capability.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Strong stakeholder management across 1st and 2nd Line functions.
- Structured problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong PowerPoint, Word, and Excel capability.
- Experience producing governance documentation for senior stakeholders and regulators.
Desirable Experience
- Insurance sector experience.
- Experience working within Consumer Duty remediation or enhancement programmes.
- Knowledge of delegated authority or intermediary distribution models.
- Consulting experience.
- Experience operating within large transformation programmes.
