Associate Consultant
My client is a specialist technology recruitment business in Brighton looking to hire three Associate Consultants.
I’ve recruited for this business for around 10 years and am now hiring trainees for managers who I originally placed with the company as graduates themselves. It’s a business with a strong track record of developing people from entry level into successful recruiters, managers and long-term careers.
They are looking for people who genuinely want to commit to something, develop expertise and become very good at what they do.
Who could suit this role?
Ideally, you’ll be a graduate with some previous sales or commercial experience, perhaps from:
- Telesales or a call centre
- Business development
- Customer-facing sales
- Hospitality or another demanding commercial environment
However, direct sales experience isn’t essential. My client is equally interested in people who can demonstrate drive, resilience and commitment in other ways. That might include:
- Working multiple jobs throughout university
- Strong academic achievement
- Competitive or high-level sporting performance
- Working demanding shifts in kitchens or hospitality
- Building a business, society or project alongside studying
- Evidence that you consistently commit to things and see them through

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
