About the Role

As a Junior Content Designer, you’ll join our thriving Digital Excellence community, where we foster a collaborative and creative mindset focused on user-centred design, critical thinking, and problem-solving. You’ll support projects across our lifecycle while deepening your expertise in inclusive design—ensuring accessibility for all users.

This role offers:

  • Hands-on experience working with public and private sector clients
  • Opportunities to develop professionally in high-impact projects
  • Hybrid work flexibility (with the possibility of client travel depending on assignments)

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to create user-centred content that aligns with both business and user needs
  • Work alongside UX designers and researchers to craft content for varied sectors (e.g., local government, higher education)
  • Apply user research techniques to translate insights into accessible, plain-language content
  • Advocate for inclusive design—incorporating accessibility standards (WCAG, Government Digital Service principles) into content
  • Support Agile delivery in fast-paced environments using iterative methods
  • Refine internal processes and data-driven content strategies
  • Engage with the wider content design community through critiques and shared learning

Requirements

Essential

  • Passion for user-centred design and collaborative problem-solving
  • Experience in content creation, style guides, and web writing (WEB 10+ years)
  • Inclusive content expertise, including plain language writing
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Familiarity with GDS (Government Digital Service) design principles
  • Awareness of accessibility regulations (WCAG, WCA tends for accessibility)
  • Comfortable working in user-centred design teams

Desired

  • Experience in local government or higher education sectors
  • Proficiency with tools like Miro, Mural, Microsoft Teams, and PowerPoint
  • Eligibility for SC (Security Check) Clearance (temporary)
