Lumanity is dedicated to improving patient health by accelerating and optimizing access to medical advances. We partner with life sciences companies around the world to generate evidence to demonstrate the value of their product, translate the science and data into compelling product narratives, and enable commercial decisions that position these products for success in the market. We do this through strategic and complementary areas of focus: Asset Optimization and Commercialization, Value Access and Outcomes, Medical Strategy and Communications, and Real-World Evidence.

Responsibilities / Position overview

We are seeking a talented individual to join our HEOR Research team as an Associate Consultant, specialising in Statistics. This is a perfect opportunity for a self-motivated new graduate looking to start a career and gain experience in the evolving and increasingly important health economics and patient outcomes industry, with a focus on statistics.

Our Research team comprises four core specialisms: Economic Modelling, Value & Access, Statistics, and Evidence Review. We offer a structured graduate programme in which the successful candidate will spend approximately half their time focusing on statistics, and half their time gaining experience across the other specialisms. Where possible, cross-specialism experience is gained through end-to-end involvement in multi-disciplinary projects, giving you exposure to how different elements of HEOR work together in practice.

The successful candidate will be enrolled in our training programme developing technical and consulting skills in all areas. As you progress in your career you will have the opportunity to deepen your skills in statistics while also developing a secondary specialism — Value & Access, Economic Modelling, or Evidence Review — based on your interests and strengths.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You'll Do

As an Associate Consultant, you will work closely with other Lumanity team members to deliver a range of high-quality, statistics-focused deliverables demonstrating the value of our clients' products. You will develop and communicate statistical solutions to demonstrate the impact of a new health technology (drug, device, diagnostic technique, etc.) on patients.

The role is varied because every engagement is different depending on the unique scientific and access needs related to different treatments and diseases. A typical project may include:

  • Developing a statistical analysis plan
  • Performing statistical analysis, either as standalone research or for input into health economic models
  • Reporting and explaining what you have done — verbally, in a written document, or as a presentation to fellow team members or clients
  • Contributing statistical input into reimbursement submissions for health technology agencies

Typical analyses to plan, perform and report include:

  • Survival analyses — in particular, fitting curves to survival data that enable estimation of long-term survival beyond the trial data
  • Indirect treatment comparisons — using evidence from clinical trials to form comparisons between treatments that have not been compared head-to-head within a clinical trial
  • Analyses of clinical trial data — e.g. estimating patients' quality of life in certain states of health
  • Analyses of observational data / real-world evidence

In addition to statistics, other responsibilities may include:

  • Conducting literature reviews
  • Developing HTA reimbursement dossiers for a variety of stakeholders, including the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) in England and the Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC)
  • Supporting economic modelling to evaluate the cost of treatments to healthcare systems
  • Producing abstracts, posters, or manuscripts to report the findings of studies
