ComputedField specialises in guiding biotech teams across Europe, the US East Coast, and Asia Pacific in implementing, managing, and improving the scientific software systems that support their R&D work. We provide “Lab Informatics Expertise as a Service”, tailored to each customer’s unique goals.
Our work spans platforms such as Benchling, Uncountable, ELN/LIMS systems, data capture tools, workflow systems, reporting tools, and the broader technology ecosystem that biotech teams rely on every day.
With deep product knowledge and over a decade of experience at the intersection of scientific research and digital technology, ComputedField is dedicated to empowering scientists and researchers to do their best work. Our philosophy is simple: our customers’ achievements are a direct reflection of our success.
Join our small, fully remote team, where we take pride in our strong team spirit, unwavering commitment to quality, and absolute dedication to our customers.
Role Overview
Your main role will be to work closely with our biotech customers, ensuring their scientific software systems run seamlessly for their teams. As their dedicated lab informatics platform lead, you will be the go-to expert helping troubleshoot issues, optimise system usage, configure platforms to fit scientific workflows, lead data model and workflow refresh sessions, and support onboarding and upskilling so customers continuously get the most out of their technology ecosystem.
As part of our energetic, growing team, you’ll work independently with customers while collaborating on larger projects. As an early member of our team, you will play a direct role in shaping ComputedField’s direction, strategy, processes, and culture. In our fully remote environment, you will need to balance autonomy with our commitment to deliver quality and dedication to our customers.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about life sciences, who enjoys problem-solving, building genuine relationships, and thrives in a fast-paced, flexible environment.

- Support customer onboarding and upskilling by conducting virtual and in-person training sessions to help internal teams maximise the value of their software systems.
- Collaborate with customer teams to identify areas for workflow improvement, platform enhancement, better data capture, and improved reporting.
- Work independently with customers, managing your own projects while contributing to larger, team-based initiatives.
- Develop deep expertise in biotech software platforms, scientific workflows, troubleshooting approaches, and customer support practices.
- Create and update internal and external knowledge resources, including guides, documentation, training materials, and reusable implementation patterns.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
