Cost Manager - Cardiff Office
We are recruiting an enthusiastic and driven Cost Manager to be based in our Cardiff office and deliver cost management services across multiple sectors and in private and public sectors.
About the Role
Applicants must be Chartered and have a background in the construction consultancy environment. You will be client facing and be able to apply their skills to a diverse number of functions under the Cost Management and Contract Administration umbrella offering exceptional project governance and client satisfaction. This role is ideal for someone confident in managing and developing a team, building relationships and able to manage multiple & complex projects.
If you have proven construction Project Management and Commercial experience in the required areas, this role will offer you the opportunity to lead on a prestigious project and develop your career as an Associate undertaking tasks both independently and where appropriate under the guidance of Partners within the Ridge business.

There is further scope for the candidate to develop Ridge’s offering within the northeast utilising any existing relationships to support work winning and fee earning commissions.
What you need to do to be effective in this role
- Ability to successfully manage sections of high value, complex schemes
- Proven construction Cost Management & Employers Agent experience
- Ability to work with professional teams including Multi discipline designers, Tier 1 Contractors, and Clients.
- Experience of pre-construction, construction and handover stages of a project
- Experience of projects containing high volumes of Client and Contractor led change.
- Proven ability to interpret construction contracts and administer the contract.
- An ability to take on responsibility and work autonomously.
- Provide clear reports and updates to senior management and the Client
- An understanding of JCT and NEC forms of contracts is essential
- Proven track record of developing Client relationships
- Ability to work under pressure in fast paced environments
- Confident communicator with excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Willingness to travel

- Professional accreditation/ chartership in RICS
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Confidence delivering presentations and holding Client and Contractor facing meetings
- Experience of utilising Contract Management software
- Proficient in writing formal contract documentation
- Proficient in building new Client relationships through networking and work winning
