Contract: Self-employed
Salary: £18.75 per hour (standard) + £11.25 enhancement pay for care leavers clients
Location: Southampton, Winchester or remote

About the role

Open Minds provides accessible, compassionate support to individuals and couples for a broad range of concerns. This is our new low-cost counselling service.

As an Associate Counsellor you will deliver high quality, safe, ethical counselling sessions within Open Minds. The role involves supporting individuals with a range of emotional and psychological needs, applying counselling principles within your trained modality, and helping clients work towards meaningful goals and improved wellbeing.

You will provide individually tailored therapeutic interventions, robust risk management, and relapse prevention planning, while working collaboratively within a multiagency environment to ensure the best outcomes for clients.

About you

You will need to have a diploma in Higher Education in Counselling (2 year level 4 or Level 4/ equivalent). You will have evidence of 100+ supervised counselling hours (minimum for newly qualified counsellors), as well as a membership of a recognised professional body (e.g. BACP).

You have experience delivering counselling to clients with a range of presentations, including mild to moderate mental health difficulties, as well as experience managing a caseload.
You must have experience of maintaining confidential, accurate records in line with GDPR.
You will have a good communication, teamwork and organisation skill.
