The Impact You Will Have
Walker & Dunlop is seeking a Senior Analyst within the European team that will primarily assist in sizing and underwriting debt mandates, gathering/organizing due diligence and deal level information, and interfacing with both internal originators and external clients related to Living (BTR, SFR and PBSA) and commercial property debt advisory transactions (Logistics, Office, Hotels, Retail, Alternatives) across the U.K. and Western Europe.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare the initial analysis of potential debt mandates and the production of pitch documents
- Interact with originators, borrowers, and third-party advisors in the collection of the necessary deal-level information and due diligence on new debt mandates, across Living and commercial properties
- Prepare and present the financing memorandum and necessary due diligence information, including market research, cash flow models, narratives, and borrower information for each property or portfolio debt request
- Create bespoke dynamic financing cash flow models in Excel from scratch, covering income-generating and development assets
- Proactively managing deal level administrative tasks including tracking and coordinating Q&A, creating marketing updates, taking and distributing meeting notes, and other deal-related tasks as required
- Participate in weekly pipeline and production meetings and be prepared to discuss the status of all active debt mandates in the pipeline
- Participate in kick-off meetings with Walker & Dunlop originators, executors, and lenders for all mandates entering legal closing
- Expand knowledge and develop relationships with commercial banks, life insurance companies, investment banks, and debt funds to help drive production activity
- Input entries in Salesforce (or associated pipeline management systems) for all active mandates
- Prepare pre-call plans for originators prior to lender and Borrower meetings, as requested
- Travel with the originators and participate in initial property inspections throughout U.K. & Western Europe, as requested
- Complete ongoing and single-task project assignments for the management team
- Perform other duties as assigned

In office attendance is generally required Monday through Friday.
Education and Experience (required as a minimum, before a CV is considered)
- Bachelor’s degree (preference for a finance and/or real estate concentration)
- 2+ years of financial analyst experience with commercial real estate owners, advisors, appraisers, or financial institutions preferred
- Language skills (German, Dutch, Spanish, Italian) are looked upon favorably
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Good conceptual understanding for the financial analysis of income-producing and development real estate
- Excellent financial modeling skills with a thorough knowledge of Excel (including the construction of dynamic models)
- Capable PowerPoint skills, with the ability to follow internal design guidelines
- Proactive team player with a great attitude and hunger to learn
- Proficiency in MS Outlook and Word, ability to learn Salesforce and other company software as needed
- Proven written and oral communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to accurately and productively handle multiple tasks during time-sensitive situations
- Ability to show ownership of your work, take on challenges and acknowledge growth opportunities, and demonstrate patience when learning new processes
- Courtesy, respect, and thoughtfulness in teaming with colleagues and other stakeholders
