Derivatives and Structured Products Associate – 2-4 PQE

The Role
You will join a market-leading debt capital markets team within a globally integrated finance practice. This specialist group advises on the full suite of derivatives and structured product mandates, including:
- Establishing and maintaining structured products programmes (on and off-balance sheet)
- Complex securitised and OTC derivatives transactions across multiple asset classes (credit, equity, commodities, FX, rates)
- Hedging arrangements as part of structured finance deals
- Structured repos and securities lending structures
- Repackaging transactions and bespoke structured finance solutions
- Associated domestic and cross-border regulatory advice impacting derivatives and structured finance

The team’s work often requires coordinating globally to deliver on cross-jurisdictional mandates, offering exposure to headline work for blue-chip financial institutions and other sophisticated market participants. The successful candidate will advise on transactions that frequently involve cutting-edge product design and risk mitigation strategies under an evolving regulatory landscape.
What They’re Looking For
- 2-4 years’ post-qualification experience with strong exposure to derivatives and structured products
- Background gained at a top-tier or international law firm is essential
- Excellent technical ability and drafting skills with attention to detail
- Strong understanding of securitised and OTC derivatives structures and regulatory requirements
- Proactive approach, commercial acumen, and ability to manage multiple time-sensitive matters
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative mindset
- High level of client awareness and ability to foster strong relationships
