Associate - Specialty Finance
London, UK | Hybrid
Hilco Diligence Services
Hilco Diligence Services (HDS) provides due diligence services, including transaction services and field exams for traditional and complex transactions across many different industries. Our services include borrowing base development, inventory and accounts receivable performance metrics and comprehensive collateral analysis. Our reports are used by lenders, advisors and investors to provide a reliable basis for structuring and monitoring loans and other transactions.
The Specialty Finance team focuses on lending businesses and structured transactions where collateral is typically made up of receivables, loans, leases or other financial assets rather than traditional inventory or fixed assets.
Company Overview
Hilco Global, a subsidiary of ORIX Corporation USA, is a diversified financial services company focused on maximizing the value of assets for healthy and distressed companies. Hilco Global operates through more than twenty specialized business units and has professionals operating across multiple continents.
Position Overview
This Associate will join HDS' Specialty Finance team in London. The role is best suited for a recently ACA-qualified candidate from audit, assurance or transaction services who wants to move into the interesting and varied world of lender diligence, collateral analysis and portfolio review work.
Unlike a traditional audit role, the work focuses on how lending businesses originate, service, monitor and report on portfolios of receivables, loans and leases. Engagements involve analysing transaction data, testing controls and documentation, understanding credit and collections processes, and preparing clear reports for banks, private credit funds, institutional investors and securitisation participants as part of their pre-close credit decisioning and ongoing monitoring processes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
