Associate Director (Economist) – Securities Litigation

We are working with a leading economics and consulting firm looking to appoint an Associate Director to its growing Securities Litigation practice in London.

This is a senior opportunity for an experienced economist or economic consultant who has worked on complex litigation, disputes or financial economics matters and is ready to take greater responsibility for the delivery of projects, management of teams and development of client relationships.

The successful candidate will play a key role across major securities and financial litigation engagements, working closely with senior experts, law firms and other stakeholders.

Role

  • Leading and managing complex securities litigation and financial economics projects
  • Managing project teams and overseeing the quality and delivery of analytical work
  • Acting as a key day-to-day contact for clients, lawyers and senior stakeholders
  • Managing project scope, timelines, budgets and deliverables
  • Reviewing economic, financial and quantitative analysis
  • Supporting senior experts in the preparation of expert reports and testimony
  • Mentoring and developing junior economists and consultants
  • Contributing to the continued growth and development of the practice

You will work closely with senior leadership to identify new opportunities, expand existing client relationships and help shape the firm’s market presence across the UK and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strong experience within economic consulting, litigation consulting, financial economics or a closely related field
  • Experience managing complex projects from inception through to delivery
  • Confidence managing and developing teams
  • Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent quantitative, analytical and communication skills
  • Experience within securities litigation, financial disputes, damages or related matters would be particularly valuable
  • A strong academic background in Economics, Finance or another relevant quantitative discipline

Key Skills

  • MSc or PhD in Economics or a related discipline
  • Significant experience within litigation economics, economic consulting or a related advisory environment
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas, disputes and litigation support, financial markets, securities
  • Demonstrable experience leading teams and developing junior talent
  • Strong client management and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Commercial awareness and an interest in contributing to business growth
  • An existing professional network within the energy sector would be advantageous
