HSG is a content and production company looking for an exceptional associate director-level hire. This is a senior role, which offers the opportunity to shape the direction of this fast-evolving business.

A self-starter, you will combine strategic and commercial rigour with client acumen. Thoroughness and thought will be non-negotiables for you, paired with a get-up-and-go attitude and outstanding communication.

Our work spans all kinds of content, from founder and launch videos to blogs and newsletters. At scale, we run shows, publications and content & marketing engines.

We work with investors and fast-growth tech companies around the world. Our clients span some of the largest asset managers in the world, to pre-launch medtech and quantum startups.

You’ll own and grow a portfolio of HSG's key client relationships end-to-end, across strategy and creative, execution and distribution. This is a role that requires daily drive, and you’ll act as an example of best practice, team development and commercial growth across the wider Accounts & Production teams.

Each client and strategic project is different: you’ll know what best practice looks like, but this role will appeal to someone who will come at each client and project like an entrepreneur, knowing when to think extremely broadly (or narrowly), proactively rolling up their sleeves and getting stuck in.

This role requires constant collaboration with clients and, of course, the rest of the HSG team – as well as with our amazing freelancers. You’ll report to the Client Director, with close working links to the wider senior leadership team. HSG has a friendly, sociable culture; you’ll be part of a close-knit and ambitious team, never working in isolation.

Key responsibilities

  • Acting as the client lead, and ultimate escalation point for multiple client accounts & projects across the HSG portfolio.
  • Thinking for and with the client on strategy and creative direction, as well as keeping production and delivery moving quickly and to an exceptional standard.
  • Monitoring and driving quality control and constant improvement.
  • Leading by example on best practice and industry knowledge across content and client markets, setting the team up for excellence on accounts, and challenging/soundboarding the team on decisions and ideas.
  • Playing an active role in lead generation: identifying opportunities, leading conversations with prospects & creating winning proposals.
  • Scoping and budgeting new work with both new and existing clients, leading the pitching and proposal process.
  • Thriving under pressure; working across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • The energy and enthusiasm to build trust and develop a strong rapport with stakeholders.
  • Strong relationships within industry, the media and creator ecosystem in the UK, Europe and/or the US are a big plus.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About you

A consummate content strategist and account lead, with demonstrable 7+ years experience.

  • Currently working in-house at a business leading its category where you own content, brand or comms strategy end-to-end — not just executing against someone else's plan.
  • You may also work agency-side, in a senior role, with plenty of hands-on experience. You will have a good understanding of B2B marketing.
  • You will be an expert in at least one of our sector focuses.
  • You’ll have worked on video, with strong results.
  • You’ll have a proven track record running senior client or stakeholder relationships, including acting as the point of escalation and identifying growth opportunities.
  • A logical thinker, with a proven ability to wrangle information and create simple but brilliant plans and strategies that can widen clients’ audiences, growing their bottom line.
  • You have experience managing junior team members, and leading project or client teams.
  • Highly organised, with the consistency to keep a "second brain" across every account — nothing falls through the cracks, and you're a step ahead of clients rather than reacting to them.
  • A thinker as much as a doer: able to pause, question a strategy that isn't working, and propose something better.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to exercise good judgement and solve problems quickly and effectively.
  • It goes without saying that you’ll default to automating your day – and beyond – wherever you can, while improving, not compromising, standards.
  • You’ll be a confident and genuine relationship builder, able to quickly build rapport and continuously grow your network – and you’ll enjoy using those skills to help contribute to business growth.
  • Your knowledge of content and media will be strong – preferably nerdy; you’re easily able to reach for examples of it being done well, and be passionate about discussing those. You’ll also enjoy following developments in both media and tech.

About HSG

Our clients know that the future of media lies beyond traditional outlets and the creator economy. They know that earning attention requires taste. We get them there. We produce content that grows brand, mind share and revenue, by being interesting and valuable to an audience beyond target, and we handle the art and science of distributing that content across channels.

Founded in 2020, HSG has grown continuously YoY, trusted by the most ambitious tech companies, investors and enterprises in the world. HSG is part of Basis Group, which also includes Basis, the investment firm for founders building where the state is failing, and Invert, a new media company for young people. This creates opportunities for cross-pollination between the companies – from building media arms for portcos, to driving client production higher through the talent and standards we can attract and set at Invert.

We stay connected with regular Zoom meetings and weekly office days at our office and studio in London.

We are an equal opportunities employer. We look for talent; who you are and how you live your life is simply an added bonus.
