Associate Director – Civil Engineering

Shoreditch, London | Medium-sized Civil & Structural Engineering Consultancy

I’m currently working with a growing, well-established civil and structural engineering consultancy that is looking to appoint an Associate Director to lead their team.

Based close to Old Street Station, the business offers a modern, collaborative working environment and a genuinely exciting opportunity for an experienced civil engineer to take on a senior leadership position within a growing practice.

The Opportunity

This is a key role within the London civil engineering team, where you will take responsibility for leading a small team of engineers, overseeing technical delivery while also playing a major role in client management, business development and the continued growth of the team.

The role would suit an experienced Civil Engineer with a strong track record across drainage, highways and SuDS, who is now looking to take the next step into a senior management position with genuine influence over the direction and growth of the business.

You will be expected to be confident working directly with clients, developing new relationships and opportunities, preparing fee proposals and quotations, and helping to grow the civil engineering offering.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Most importantly, this is an opportunity for someone who wants to move beyond purely technical project delivery and play a genuine role in the growth and leadership of a consultancy.

Why Join?
