A well-established and forward-thinking general practice accountancy firm based in Holmfirth is looking to appoint an Associate Director as part of its continued growth.

This is a truly independent firm, with the owners firmly committed to maintaining its independence and continuing to build the business for the long term. This creates an environment where senior individuals can have genuine influence over the direction and future of the practice.

The role offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious ACA/ACCA-qualified accountant looking to take the next step in their career.

The Role

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients.
  • Act as a senior point of contact, providing accounts, tax and broader commercial advice.
  • Review and oversee accounts and tax work, ensuring high standards of technical delivery.
  • Build strong, long-term client relationships and identify opportunities to add value.
  • Support and develop junior and qualified members of the team.
  • Take an active role in the growth and development of the practice.
  • Play a key role in shaping the continued development of an independent, owner-led firm.

The Person

  • ACA or ACCA qualified, with strong post-qualification experience.
  • Experienced within an accountancy practice and comfortable dealing directly with clients.
  • Strong technical knowledge across accounts and taxation.
  • Commercially minded with the confidence to advise owner-managed businesses.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Leadership experience or the ambition to take on greater responsibility.
