Accounting Associate Director

Construction Division

Location: Fully remote – United Kingdom

Salary: £65,000–£75,000, plus bonuses

Job Type: Permanent

Sector: Accountancy Practice – Construction Division


The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to lead the construction division of a modern, growing accountancy practice.

The role combines team leadership, specialist client advisory work and commercial growth, giving you genuine ownership of the division’s next stage.

You will oversee delivery across an established team, maintain quality and deadlines, support construction-sector clients with specialist advice and convert new opportunities into long-term client relationships.

Leadership and Delivery

  • Manage four qualified accountants working across the UK and offshore.
  • Review work, maintain consistent quality standards and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Provide clear direction, support and accountability across a fully remote team.
  • Take ownership of workflow, capacity and the overall performance of the construction division.

Construction-Sector Advisory

  • Lead specialist accounting and advisory work for clients operating within the construction sector.
  • Act as a senior point of contact for complex client matters and commercially important relationships.
  • Ensure advice is technically sound, practical and commercially relevant.

Commercial Growth

  • Win and onboard new clients through proactive business development.
  • Use in-house leads and booked client meetings to build momentum and strengthen the pipeline.
  • Increase billings while maintaining a high standard of client service and delivery.
  • Build long-term client relationships that support referrals, retention and sustainable growth.

Practice Development

  • Help shape the systems, standards and commercial direction of the division.
  • Work with senior leadership to identify opportunities, remove delivery bottlenecks and improve performance.

Profile We Are Looking For

Essential Experience

  • FCCA or FCA qualified.
  • At least 10 years’ experience within a UK accountancy practice.
  • Deep accounting knowledge and client experience within the construction sector.
  • A strong track record of reviewing work, maintaining quality and leading qualified accountants.
  • Experience delivering senior-level client advisory support.
  • The confidence and commercial ability to win, onboard and grow client relationships.
  • Able to lead effectively in a fully remote environment across UK and offshore teams.
