Associate Director – Competition and Group Actions

A look into the role
As an Competition and Group Actions Director within our practice, you will:
Book Build & Claimant Recruitment
- Manage the end-to-end book build process for group actions and competition claims, from initial claimant discussions through to sign-up and quantum analysis.
- Oversee the preparation and project management of meetings with potential claimants, ensuring the primary team are prepared and have the relevant information.
- Liaise with internal teams across the firm to identify and utilise existing client and contact relationships that could support claimant recruitment and book build.
- Support in claimant discussions to secure sign-up, gathering the information needed to support both recruitment and quantum assessment.
- Manage claimant data and documentation, including engagement documents, retainers, KYC and AML checks, and litigation funding and ATE insurance paperwork.
- Oversee the claimant database/CRM, ensuring data is accurate, complete and compliant with data protection requirements.
- Monitor book build progress against target claimant numbers, financial thresholds and certification requirements.
- Coordinate with external legal advisers on eligibility criteria, claimant verification and any book build issues arising.
- Produce regular book build reporting for funders and internal stakeholders, tracking recruitment progress, attrition and claimant book composition.

Quantum and Financial Analysis
- Collaborate with internal teams and external legal advisors to analyse client evidence and prepare individual claim quantum reports for the purpose of funding / insurance sign-off.
- Coordinate the gathering of information from claimants during sign-up and ensure it is saved, stored and dealt with appropriately.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as a day-to-day contact for internal stakeholders, clients and, where appropriate, external stakeholders on progress of claim.
Business Development
- Prepare business development collateral tailored to each client.
Knowing you’re right for us
Joining us as an Associate Director the minimum criteria you’ll need is the ability to identify and manage legal, commercial and book build risks. It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way.
- Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple high-profile matters and book build workstreams simultaneously.
- Proactive and comfortable owning a process end to end, with good judgment on when to escalate.
- Strong analytical skills and financial literacy, with the ability to interpret complex claimant, legal and financial data (Excel modelling not required).
- Comfortable working with large data sets and claimant databases/CRM systems, including data accuracy and compliance.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, drafting and presentation skills.
- Keen to learn and develop expertise in competition, litigation, funding structures and claimant recruitment.
