You’ll work across a varied portfolio of major infrastructure projects, bringing together expertise from across Stantec to develop solutions that help connect and support communities.

You’ll have the opportunity to influence the direction of our bridge engineering team, develop our people, strengthen client relationships and help us grow our portfolio of work.

About The Role

As an Associate Director, you’ll provide senior technical and project leadership across a range of bridge engineering commissions.

  • You’ll lead complex projects and provide technical direction from early feasibility and concept through detailed design, assessment and construction.
  • Alongside your project responsibilities, you’ll help develop our client relationships, identify new opportunities and contribute to the continued growth of our bridge engineering business.
  • You’ll work closely with Project Directors, Project Managers and technical specialists across Transportation and the wider Stantec business, bringing together multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, practical and sustainable solutions.
  • A key part of the role will be developing our people and creating an environment where engineers can build their technical expertise, gain project experience and progress their careers.

Your Impact

  • Leading the delivery of complex bridge design, assessment and inspection projects.
  • Providing technical direction and oversight from feasibility and concept through to detailed design and construction.
  • Reviewing and assuring technical work, calculations, drawings, specifications and reports.
  • Acting as a senior technical advisor to clients and project teams.
  • Building trusted relationships with existing and prospective clients and understanding their future needs.
  • Identifying and developing opportunities for new work and supporting the preparation of bids, proposals and fee estimates.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of business development strategies for the bridge engineering team.
  • Working with Project Directors and Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered safely, commercially and to a high technical standard.
  • Managing and coordinating multidisciplinary teams across Stantec's UK and international offices where appropriate.
  • Providing technical input into major infrastructure schemes and strategic projects.
  • Supporting the development of standards, technical capability and best practice within the wider structures business.
  • Mentoring and developing engineers at all levels, supporting professional development and progression.
  • Supporting recruitment and resource planning to build the capability and capacity of the team.
  • Contributing to the strategic growth and direction of Stantec’s bridge engineering capability.
  • Representing Stantec at industry events, client meetings and professional forums.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
