Job Role: Associate Director – Building Safety

Location: Worcester

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Main Purpose of Job

Leading this key part of the division, as Associate Director for Building Safety you provide operational leadership across Innovus Asset Management for building safety and remediation, ensuring compliance with and delivery against the client’s strategy.

Working within the asset management function, the role will provide oversight, assurance and strategic direction on building safety and remediation matters, ensuring that risks are identified, understood, appropriately managed.

Position in Organisation

This role reports to the Account Director - Asset Management.

The role has up to 5 direct reports.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with the Client’s building safety and remediation strategy, advising on PAP and AP responsibilities where appropriate.
  • Provide strategic oversight of compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022 and associated regulations and supporting the delivery of the requirements of the Higher-Risk Building regime.
  • Lead the Innovus Building Safety and Remediation team, ensuring effective service delivery into the Client at all times.
  • Manage relationship with key external stakeholders, such as technical consultants, contractors and project managers to deliver appropriate solutions.
  • Develop building safety policies, procedures, standards and governance arrangements for the Innovus scope under the Asset Management Agreement.
  • Provide oversight of building safety risk registers and data, overseeing the preparation and maintenance of appropriate building safety information and records.
  • Contribute to management of all safety-critical defects and client remediation programmes, ensure building safety risks are appropriately reported.
  • Review the quality, completeness and accessibility of building safety information, ensuring high-quality data management and subsequent reporting to the Client.
  • Oversee the production of detailed and effective recommendation reports to the client.
  • Deliver all relevant KPIs in line with Asset Management Agreement.

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Preferably TPI/RICS qualified with 10+ years’ experience of working with ground rent/ residential portfolios.

Experience

  • Experience of managing mixed-use and complex residential portfolios essential
  • Demonstrable experience of being accountable for strategy and objectives across a property freeholder/investor facing service.
  • Enjoys the buzz of working in a high-pressure, results-driven environment with the need to meet multiple deadlines and juggle priorities.
  • Confident, open and articulate communicator both orally and in writing; with exceptional relationship building skills.
  • Strong customer and employee focus with the ability to utilise data insights and industry intelligence to drive performance improvement and capability.
  • Results orientated and is able to deliver against action led projects and targets.

Technical Skills

  • Good knowledge of supporting clients in relation to operational and building safety in Multi-storey, Multi-occupied Residential Buildings.
  • Excellent IT skills and up to date with new technology.
