Associate Director - Building Surveying (Fire)

A leading multi-disciplinary consultancy is looking for an experienced Associate Director - Building Surveying (Fire Specialist) to join their team across the South-West & Wales region, with offices in Bristol, Cardiff, or Exeter.

This is a career-defining leadership opportunity to shape and grow a specialist fire consultancy offering across the region, combining hands-on technical leadership with business development and client engagement across healthcare, education, residential, defence, commercial, infrastructure, and public sector portfolios.

  • Lead and grow the fire safety consultancy service across South-West & Wales, acting as regional technical lead
  • Deliver complex fire consultancy commissions and provide expert advice on fire legislation, Building Regulations, passive fire protection, compartmentation, and Building Safety Act compliance
  • Drive business growth by developing client relationships, securing new opportunities, and leading bids and tenders
  • Act as trusted adviser to key clients across multiple sectors
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing fire safety team
  • Oversee project delivery, governance, quality, financial performance, and resource management
  • Contribute to regional business planning and growth targets

Essential Requirements for Associate Director - Building Surveying (Fire Specialist):

  • Strong fire safety consultancy experience with technical knowledge of fire risk, compliance, and fire safety legislation
  • Proven ability to lead complex projects, manage clients, and drive business growth
  • Relevant degree with industry recognised accreditation such as MRICS, MIFSM, or IFE
  • Level 4 Fire Risk Assessor qualification
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Building Safety Act and Principal Designer experience
  • Fire remediation programme delivery and framework management experience
  • NEBOSH or IOSH accreditation
