Job Description

What is the opportunity?

The Associate Director of Business & Performance Management for Global Markets Transaction Services provides operational and analytical support to drive performance management, cost optimization, and organizational effectiveness across the pillar. This role serves as a key business partner to leadership, translating operational data into actionable insights while supporting process improvements, compliance monitoring, and strategic initiatives. The Associate Director acts as a bridge between senior management and operations teams, ensuring alignment of the Global Markets Transaction Services group with broader Capital Markets objectives. This role reports directly to the Director of Business & Performance Management and works collaboratively with cross-functional teams including finance, operations, technology, and compliance to ensure optimal resource allocation, effective risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.

What will you do?

Business Performance Management & Analysis

  • Support the development and maintenance of performance measurement frameworks, including KPIs, metrics, and dashboards for the pillar
  • Conduct business performance reviews and analytics, translating operational data into insights and recommendations for senior leadership
  • Assist in defining and updating pillar KPIs in coordination with the operating committee lead, with monthly monitoring and reporting
  • Partner with finance, operations, and technology teams to ensure data quality standards and reporting infrastructure
  • Support root cause analysis to identify performance gaps and inform strategic and tactical interventions
  • Develop reporting tools and assist in the creation of business intelligence capabilities to support evidence-based decision-making

Cost Management & Financial Planning Support

  • Support annual budgeting and financial planning processes for the pillar, including headcount and resource analysis
  • Assist in monitoring and analyzing operating expenses, identifying variances and opportunities for corrective action
  • Support the development of business cases and ROI analyses for operational projects and improvements
  • Identify and quantify cost optimization opportunities through process improvement analysis and efficiency recommendations
  • Assist with pillar NIE review and develop recommendations to reduce spend
  • Support financial forecasting and reporting accuracy in coordination with finance partners

Operational Performance & Risk Monitoring

  • Monitor and track pillar KPIs, operational risk events (OREs), and audit findings, supporting timely escalation and resolution
  • In partnership with process subject matter experts, assist in identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational and process risks
  • Support the monthly Senior Leadership Forum by preparing materials and tracking KPIs, audits, regulatory reporting, and EUCs
  • Ensure current state processes are documented and compliance with regulatory requirements is monitored
  • Support process improvement initiatives and recommend areas for simplification and efficiency to management

Headcount & Resource Management

  • Support evaluation and monitoring of headcount within the pillar, ensuring resources are optimized
  • Assist in ensuring employee roles have clear, detailed, and updated procedures
  • Support organizational assessments and resource allocation recommendations
  • Collaborate with HR on workforce planning and organizational change management initiatives

Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-Functional Support

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, operations, technology, project management) to support capex projects and operational initiatives
  • Facilitate communication and alignment between senior management, operations teams, and other key stakeholders
  • Provide data-driven advice and recommendations to leadership on pillar decisions
  • Support coordination with project managers, business transformation groups, compliance, and risk management teams

What do you need to succeed?

Must have

  • Minimum 7+ years in business management, strategy, operations, or finance roles, with demonstrated experience in strategic planning, cross-functional coordination, and board/executive-level support
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, variance analysis, and business economics; ability to interpret financial statements and translate financial data into strategic insights
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (modeling, data analysis, complex formulas) and PowerPoint (executive-level presentations); comfort with business intelligence and analytics tools
  • Proven skills in story boarding and developing meeting materials used in executive-level decision making
  • Proven ability to build credibility and influence with senior leaders; excellent communication skills (written and verbal); ability to navigate competing priorities and build consensus across functions
  • Ability to synthesize complex information, identify root causes, think systemically, and develop actionable recommendations aligned with organizational objectives
  • Demonstrated capability to conduct structured analysis, use data to inform decisions, and challenge assumptions constructively

Nice to have

  • Prior experience in investment banking, trading, wealth management, or other Capital Markets functions; familiarity with CM business models and regulatory environment
  • Experience driving organizational change initiatives, adoption of new processes, or transformational programs
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall)
  • Prior experience implementing or managing OKR frameworks or balanced scorecard approaches at scale
