Associate Director, Clinical Operations Lead (FSP)
Location: UK
Position: Permanent
Advanced Clinical is seeking an experienced Associate Director, Clinical Operations Lead to join our growing Functional Service Provider (FSP) team, supporting a global biopharmaceutical partner. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced clinical operations professional to lead the operational strategy and end-to-end delivery of global clinical studies within a collaborative, matrix environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the operational strategy and execution of global clinical studies from protocol development through study close-out.
- Provide leadership to cross-functional study teams, ensuring studies are delivered to quality, budget, and timeline expectations.
- Manage CROs and external vendors, driving strong oversight and performance.
- Develop study timelines, budgets, forecasts, and resource plans.
- Identify operational risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Act as a key operational partner to internal stakeholders throughout the study lifecycle.
- Support inspection readiness, audits, and continuous process improvement initiatives.

Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years' clinical operations experience within a pharmaceutical company, biotechnology company, or CRO.
- Proven experience independently leading global clinical trials from start-up through close-out.
- Experience managing multiple vendors and CROs across international studies.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving processes.
- Thorough understanding of ICH-GCP and global clinical trial regulations.

Preferred Experience
- Experience in Phase IV, late-phase, and/or observational studies.
- Experience working closely with Medical Affairs.
- Experience delivering complex, multi-country clinical studies.
- Gene therapy experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
