About the Role

The Associate Director - Community Wellbeing provides strategic and operational leadership for the University’s community wellbeing functions, ensuring a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for all students living on campus and in the wider local community. The role holds institutional accountability for community safety, residential support, and driving preventative approaches, effective incident response, and continuous service improvement.

The Associate Director for Community Wellbeing escalates to the Director of Wellbeing and Safeguarding (or to the Deputy Director of Wellbeing and Safeguarding) for institutional or system-wide risk.

About You

Working collaboratively across the University and with external partners, the postholder leads the development and delivery of the University’s Wellbeing & Safeguarding strategy that strengthens student belonging, enhances social connection, and promotes a cohesive campus community.

As a senior leader within the Wellbeing & Safeguarding Directorate, the Associate Director ensures regulatory compliance, champions evidence-informed practice, and contributes to institutional governance and strategic planning to enhance the overall student experience.
