You will help clients identify where GenAI and agentic solutions can create measurable value, from customer insight and personalisation through to commercial operations, supply chain, service, marketing and enterprise productivity.
Your expertise will help Consumer clients use AI responsibly and pragmatically to improve performance, unlock growth and create distinctive customer and brand experiences in an increasingly competitive marketplace.

We are seeking to hire an experienced Assistant Director focused on Consumer Gen AI and agentic strategy and delivery within Deloitte’s Engineering, AI & Data service offering.
You will work with Consumer clients, third parties and Deloitte teams from across the Firm. You will support retailers, consumer goods, travel, hospitality and other customer-led businesses as they navigate an environment where margins are tight, brand trust is critical, and understanding and serving customers consistently across omni-channel routes to sales and loyalty is increasingly complex. You will combine industry insight, commercial judgement and practical delivery experience to shape and mobilise GenAI and agentic opportunities that create measurable business value.
Your role
As an Assistant Director in Consumer Gen AI and agentic strategy and delivery, you will help clients identify, prioritise, design and deliver AI-enabled transformation across customer, commercial and operational value chains.
In this role, you may be expected to:
- Lead senior client conversations to identify where GenAI and agentic technologies can improve Consumer business performance, including margin protection, growth, brand experience, loyalty, customer service, marketing effectiveness and operational productivity.
- Shape and prioritise Consumer AI and automation opportunity pipelines, translating customer, commercial and operational pain points into use cases, value cases, delivery roadmaps and mobilisation plans.
- Manage Deloitte and client teams through discovery, design and delivery of GenAI and agentic solutions across functions such as customer engagement, digital commerce, stores, contact centres, marketing, supply chain, finance, HR and shared services.
- Develop business cases and benefits frameworks that quantify productivity, cost, revenue, customer experience and brand outcomes, and support delivery governance to track value realisation.
- Bring practical Consumer industry knowledge to help clients understand how AI-enabled operating models, automation, data and technology can help them compete across omni-channel sales, service and loyalty ecosystems.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
