Our Financial Investors business comprises a dedicated team of 650 professionals, renowned for their agility and deep understanding of the needs of our financial investor clients and the dynamic markets in which they operate and invest. Structured around our four key pillars – Private Equity, Real Assets, Corporate Transactions, and Investment Management & Reporting – we provide a broad range of tax services to our clients that include fund structuring and advisory, M&A, investment lifecycle advisory and provision of local and global compliance and reporting obligations. We are market leading and have deep industry knowledge.
The Credit & Restructuring Tax Team (which sits within Corporate Transactions) is a fast-growing team that provides market-leading expertise to a range of clients across a variety of situations.
We are seeking Associate Directors to advise on a wide range of credit and restructuring transactions, from lending and debt trading to rescuing overleveraged businesses and fostering long-term client relationships. This work is varied, bespoke, and often involves complex UK and cross-border structuring, with current macroeconomic factors driving significant activity.
The team is diverse, collaborative, and works closely with other specialist teams (e.g., M&A, Real Estate tax) to deliver comprehensive solutions. As an Associate Director, you will manage a high-profile client portfolio, lead client relationships, and mentor junior colleagues, working alongside partners and directors.
Deloitte is committed to professional development, offering continuous training, a transparent appraisal process, and encouraging flexible working arrangements. The role provides autonomy in managing workload and setting career goals within a team known for strong progression.
Deloitte takes your development seriously. You'll benefit from continuous training and a transparent, interactive appraisal process. You'll be empowered to manage your own workload and achieve career goals that you set yourself, in a team with a clear overarching strategy and a proven track record for strong progression. I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Personal independence
Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm). The recruitment team will provide further detail as you progress through the recruitment process or you can contact the Independence team upon request.
