As part of Westpac's global Financial Markets business, you'll work with sophisticated institutional investors and corporate clients, delivering market insights, risk management solutions and investment opportunities across a broad range of products.

How will I help?

As an Associate Director / Director within the Institutional Sales team, you'll be responsible for developing and managing long term relationships across institutional and corporate investors throughout the UK and Europe.

Working as part of a globally coordinated sales team, you will drive client engagement, originate new business opportunities and deliver value-added solutions across Westpac's Financial Markets platform. The role focuses on growing revenue, expanding client penetration and supporting the execution of regional and global sales objectives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver against regional and global sales objectives through disciplined execution of the strategic sales plan.
  • Originate and develop new institutional and corporate client relationships, converting opportunities into active and sustainable trading relationships.
  • Grow revenues across existing client portfolios by increasing product penetration and identifying wallet growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Financial Markets globally to deliver coordinated client coverage and execution.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of client needs, market developments and investment themes to provide relevant insights and solutions.
  • Uphold high standards of risk management, governance, conduct and regulatory compliance.

What do I need?

We're looking for an experienced Financial Markets sales professional with a strong understanding of institutional clients across the UK, Europe and global markets.

  • Significant institutional sales experience within a Financial Markets environment.
  • Experience developing and growing relationships across asset managers, banks, insurers, hedge funds and other institutional investors.
  • Strong product knowledge across fixed income and credit markets.
  • Expertise in ABS, RMBS and broader securitised products.
  • A solid understanding of relative value across capital structures, currencies, sectors and issuers.
  • Strong rates market knowledge, including derivatives, cash products and client risk management solutions.
  • A proven ability to build trusted long term client relationships and deliver sustainable revenue outcomes.
  • Strong commercial acumen and an understanding of macroeconomic drivers, investment processes and market dynamics.
  • An established network within the institutional investor community.
  • A track record of delivering against sales targets and broader business objectives.
