Energy & Construction

Over the years, Miller has also built one of the largest and most skilled Energy broking teams in the UK. Whatever field our client is in, we can arrange solutions to help them protect all aspects of their business operations. Miller’s Construction team are continuing to grow and continue to invest and focus their specialist construction offering and are looking to recruit individuals who wish to progress their career in the construction insurance sector with their passion for specialism and client focus.

What You’ll Do

  • Understand clients’ businesses and risk management needs, providing ongoing service, technical expertise, and advice to develop appropriate insurance solutions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key client and market contacts.
  • Determine appropriate insurance structures, pricing, and placement strategies that meet clients’ needs and deliver profitable business.
  • Grow the existing portfolio by identifying new business opportunities and cross-selling across Miller, where applicable.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospects through research, initial contact, and new business presentations.
  • Assist in setting budgets for the portfolio of accounts and deliver against agreed targets.
  • Manage renewals and endorsements, gathering information in good time to obtain terms and place firm orders.
  • Prepare presentations for new and existing clients, alongside market documentation tailored to client and market requirements.
  • Broke risks or work with placing brokers to secure market agreement, maintaining a diary and pending system to track progress.
  • Liaise with technical teams to support the delivery and processing of insurance placements.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely production of client documentation, including Market Reform Contracts, Evidence of Cover, and policies, and perform quality control checks on all documentation.
  • Maintain accurate, concise placing files within the corporate document management system and ensure timely, accurate data entry across all applicable systems.
  • Promote Miller’s brand and values to enhance its reputation in the market.
  • Ensure market documentation is closed promptly, paying particular attention to Premium Payment Warranty provisions and contract certainty deadlines, and diarising requirements as appropriate.
  • Liaise with compliance and relevant teams to ensure procedures are followed and contracts are processed in accordance with FCA and contract certainty requirements.
  • Take overall responsibility for compliance procedures across the individual client portfolio.
  • Adhere to and fully meet Miller’s expectations, as set out in its policies, procedures, training materials, systems, and controls. These policies and procedures encapsulate the compliance, legal, and financial crime-related legislation and regulations that apply to Miller.
  • Comply with all external rules and requirements applicable to individuals performing their role at Miller, including Lloyd’s byelaws and FCA rules.
