Associate Director – Environment

£55,000 – £75,000 + benefits

Calibre Search is currently supporting a leading multidisciplinary consultancy with the appointment of an Associate Director – Environment to join their growing environmental team in Glasgow.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced environmental professional looking to take the next step in their career, with responsibility for leading environmental work across a diverse portfolio of major infrastructure projects.

The Role

You will play a key role in the coordination and delivery of environmental services, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams and a range of technical specialists.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the coordination and delivery of environmental work, including EIA, options appraisals and environmental management.
  • Providing environmental leadership across multidisciplinary engineering projects.
  • Influencing project development to achieve strong environmental outcomes.
  • Managing and coordinating environmental deliverables to a high technical standard.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Supporting bid preparation and identifying opportunities for business development.
  • Reviewing technical work and ensuring projects are delivered on time and to budget.
  • Supporting and mentoring colleagues within the environmental team.
  • Maintaining your own professional development and continuing to build your technical and commercial expertise.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • A degree or Masters in an environmental or related discipline.
  • Chartered status.
  • Significant experience within environmental consultancy.
  • Experience working on major infrastructure projects.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the EIA process and relevant environmental technical disciplines.
  • Proven experience leading or coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience contributing to bids and/or business development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive, commercially aware and collaborative approach.
