The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen within a global advisory firm for an experienced financial modelling professional to join a leading advisory and consulting firm with an established reputation for delivering complex, high-profile engagements across a diverse client base.

Working with organisations ranging from large corporate and private equity-backed businesses to lenders and investors, you will lead the delivery of bespoke financial and operational modelling solutions that support critical business decisions. Projects typically span mergers and acquisitions, refinancing, restructuring, strategic planning and performance forecasting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of complex financial modelling engagements from inception through to completion.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring quality, efficiency and commercial delivery.
  • Design, build and review sophisticated financial and operational models tailored to client requirements.
  • Work on data visualisation projects, developing interactive dashboards and management reporting solutions using modern analytics tools including Power BI and Power Query.
  • Review modelling outputs to ensure robustness, transparency and adherence to industry best practice.
  • Translate complex commercial challenges into practical, data-driven modelling solutions.
  • Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Lead client meetings and manage engagement teams throughout project delivery.
  • Support business development activities by identifying new opportunities within existing and prospective clients.
  • Contribute to proposals, pitches and new client engagements.
  • Coach, mentor and develop junior team members, fostering technical excellence across the team.
  • Promote financial modelling best practice, including model governance, documentation and auditability.

Requirements for this opportunity:

  • Extensive experience building and reviewing complex financial and operational models.
  • Possess exceptional financial modelling capability alongside strong commercial judgement and the confidence to build relationships with senior executives.
  • Advanced Excel skills, with a strong understanding of financial modelling best practice.
  • Experience leading client engagements and managing senior stakeholder relationships.
  • The ability to manage multiple complex projects within demanding deadlines.
  • Strong commercial awareness and an interest in supporting business growth.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven leadership experience, including coaching and developing high-performing teams.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach to solving complex business problems.
  • Experience with Power BI, Power Query, SQL, VBA or Python would be advantageous but is not essential.
