Associate Director, FM Consultancy

Gleeds Built Asset Solutions

Nottingham | Birmingham | Hybrid

About This Opportunity

Our Facilities Management team are a crucial component of our growing Built Asset Solutions offering, providing expert guidance, advice and management services to national and local client organisations.

We are searching for an FM specialist to join us as a key member of our FM consultancy team, play an important role in the management, delivery and growth of the discipline.

You'll join a collaborative and inclusive team of industry experts in a team providing high standards of service to national and regional, public and private sector clients.

As associate director, you will lead facilities management consultancy commissions and support the growth of the FM team. They will turn client objectives into practical improvements across operating models, compliance, procurement, mobilisation, commercial management, asset information and service performance.

The role combines hands-on delivery with client leadership. The successful candidate will take day-to-day ownership of significant assignments, manage project teams and maintain commercial control, working with a Director as account sponsor for the largest, highest-risk or most strategic commissions.

This is a delivery-led role, with responsibility for commissions, clients, people and fees, supporting directors and business-unit leads by:

  • Leading defined commissions and workstreams from mobilisation through to completion
  • Acting as the principal day-to-day contact for clients, with director support where appropriate
  • Managing agreed fees, programme, resourcing, quality and project risk
  • Leading and developing consultants and senior consultants working across their assignments
  • Contributing to bids, proposals, client development and repeat work
  • Escalating material commercial, technical, legal or reputational risks to the Director
  • Working within Gleeds governance, quality and professional indemnity requirements

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
